Artists Maria Nordbäck (FI) and Brynhild Bye (NO)
Forgo (2011-2012) was based on the ability of contemporary art to help identify opinions and attitudes, and was part of the exhibition "To have - To own" at KUNTSI Museum of Modern Art in Vaasa from December 2011 until January 2012. The project focuses on people who, for some reason, have chosen to – or been forced to – forgo something.
The artists arranged several sewing and embroidery workshops in cooperation with local women’s groups in Vaasa, Finland and Trondheim, Norway. The collaboration led to two exhibition pieces; an assembly of embroideries, as well as a sound and photo installation by Bye-Tiller.
In 2012, the house was exhibited at Gallery Spectra in Kristinestad, Finland.
